Young & Restless‘ usually-mercurial Billy has enjoyed a period of calm contentment of late, happy to be supporting Sally at Abbott Communications, and not the least bit twitchy about his mother or Victor. Unfortunately for ‘Silly’, all that’s about to change. Be forewarned, this story contains two teeny spoilers…

Let’s cut to the chase. Billy was clearly agitated seeing Cane and Phyllis plotting together. It wouldn’t take a rocket scientist to figure out that they had revenge against Victor on their minds, given the plundering of Arabesque. Knowing they were cooking up a scheme to take down the Mustache definitely stirred up those old obsessions for the messiest Abbott, who has long had a beef with his ex-wife’s domineering dad.

But Billy’s well-aware that in order to stay with Sally, he has to keep those old impulses and obsessions at bay. Problem is… when those old feelings start up, he’s not able to hide them very well. Certainly not from someone as shrewd as Sally, who is already watching for them out of a fear of being disappointed.

But (spoiler!) when Sally confronts Billy about being jealous of Cane and Phyllis, he’ll head off disaster by… admitting it. Not wanting to break up, Sally will allow him to charm his way out of the tense talk. But given the beast has been awakened, the situation is untenable.

In a recent interview, Jason Thompson admitted, “He [Billy] still wants Chancellor.” And what better opportunity could there possibly be to get it back than now, when the AI is eating Newman Enterprises alive? The answer: none.

Without giving too much away, suffice it to say that Cane’s going to reach out, which we’re presuming will end up with Billy facing temptation. If he doesn’t handle it right, this could spell the end of his relationship with Sally, which is already on shaky ground.

Billy’s inability to completely walk away from the idea of taking Chancellor back from Victor could clearly bring him and Sally to the breaking point. Will he say no to temptation? Will he at least be upfront with her about what’s going on? Let us know what you think, SOAPS readers! Before you hit the comments, check out the full interview below:
