Bold & Beautiful’s Dropped Plots: Uh, Are We *Ever* Gonna Pick Those Back Up?

The Bold and the Beautiful reminds me of a 3-year-old neighbor of mine: He’ll have a favorite toy for, like, 10 minutes, but when he gets bored with it, boom. It’s like it’s dead to him. Bold & Beautiful does the same thing with storylines. It’s all about A, B, C for a week, and then it’s almost like it never happened.

Take, for instance, Forrester vs. Logan. The stage was perfectly set for a battle royale between the enduring fashion house and the new kid on the block, with crossover designer Eric striking a blow for senior citizens at the same time. That plot was derailed and shut down without ever reaching a climax. We didn’t even get a single runway showdown.

Is Katie Suffering From Amnesia?

Now, the soap may pick up that loose thread by finally having Katie remember that she was going to hire Deke. But why did that totally slip her mind in the first place? She told him she might be able to help him make his dreams come true while also proving everyone wrong about Logan. That doesn’t seem like the kinda thing you’d forget, does it?

Speaking of Deke, where is Remy? We know they are currently estranged, but Remy has been scarcer than characters who look like they actually eat carbs. Bold & Beautiful made a big deal of the fact that it was finally going to have not only a gay character but a gay couple… so where are they? If the show isn’t going to bring back Remy, it should at least let Deke date cute water Tyler (above).

Thomas Came Back… and Then Left Again: Why?

Then there’s Thomas, whose “return” to Forrester somehow necessitated Deke’s firing. So what? He’s doing all his work overseas, off screen? Where’s the fun in that? Shouldn’t he be in L.A. making things hella uncomfortable for newlyweds Hope and Liam… who reunited and remarried at breakneck speed, only to be sent packing directly to the backburner. Wouldn’t it have been more interesting for him to have hooked up with Ivy first? (If nothing else, it would’ve given her something to do besides obsess over Electra’s love life.)

Which dropped story do you most want to see picked back up?
