Bold & Beautiful’s Most Divisive Duo Garners the Show’s Most Volatile Reactions in Years

Love makes us do dumb things. Maybe you’ll buy a gift that you really can’t afford to impress your sweetheart. Maybe you’ll make a fool of yourself serenading them when you can’t even sing. Or maybe, if you’re The Bold and the Beautiful‘s Deacon and Taylor, you make eyes at each other, fawn over each other and nearly kiss — all within shouting distance of Sheila! Yeah, Monday’s episode left a lot of fans wanting to shout at their televisions!

After the episode, the Bold & Beautiful Reddit erupted with a thread titled *ahem*, “Two idiots?” If you think you know where this is going, then we’re pretty darn sure you’re right!

“If these two idiots are dumb enough to make googly eyes at each other at Il Giardino’s,” original poster Life-is-Good-USA wrote, “fully knowing that Sheila could walk in at any minute, then they both deserve the wrath of terror that Sheila will soon bestow upon them.”

Well, that’s… harsh. But we don’t know that we disagree with the sentiment at how utterly unwise it is to be so obvious where Sheila could find them! It’s not like she hasn’t had her suspicions, and she’s made it clear how lost she’d be if Deacon left her. Lost enough to go on a murderous rampage, perhaps! As DaFuriusLGND put it, “Y’all see two idiots, I see two future victims…”

And they were far, far from alone! But Scrolling4Comments had another take: This was Deacon’s way of getting away from Sheila. “They want to get caught,” they wrote. “Deacon is a coward. He doesn’t have the balls to tell Sheila he doesn’t want to be with her anymore.”

We’re not sure if cowardice is much better than stupidity, but it could be valid. But it’s far from a clean sweep with the fans hating on Bold and Beautiful‘s newest couple. Well, potential couple. (And potential victims.)

“I like them together,” Intrepid-Software-54 exclaimed! “It’s gonna be an epic love triangle and refreshing to exclude *yawn* Ridge and Brook *yawn*!” And Taylor not running back to Ridge was a big draw for a good number of fans — even if they aren’t exactly warming to Deacon just yet.

But, as ratherbeonabike put it, “May sweeps is coming up. They need to start this storyline ASAP.” And it couldn’t boil down any better than that. The tension, the foolishness, the danger — it’ll make for fun TV viewing! And if it all builds to May sweeps, and Sheila learning about Deacon and Taylor and losing her mind, then maybe a little stupidity is a small price to pay! But seriously, Deacon and Taylor, try to be at least a little careful.
