And just like that, Stacy Haiduk is back off and running on The Young and the Restless. Patty popped back up at the end of Friday’s episode once again, though she’s now claiming to a captive Jack that she’s been rehabilitated and is a perfectly functioning member of society again! Days of Our Lives fans knew that Haiduk was making the jump back to Young & Restless, but at the time of the announcement, it had sounded like she’d be continuing on in Salem.

It looks like that is not quite the case. Or at least, not in the way we thought. Haiduk spoke with TV Insider about her CBS soap return, and was honest about her future in Salem. “They put my characters to rest sometimes,” she shared, “and I’m always sad because I love that show and my characters so much. When they did it in January, I was disappointed.”

That, Days of Our Lives fans know, is also when the show let go of four of its younger stars. But things turned around fairly quickly as The Young and the Restless called and Haiduk happily stepped right back into Patty. And if and when Days of Our Lives asks her to bring Kristen and Susan back, she’s ready and willing. “I’m an actress. I love acting, so, yeah, absolutely, I would,” go back again.

With that said, much like Billy Flynn’s exit as Chad to play Young & Restless‘ Cane, Haiduk will be airing on both shows for quite some time to come! In fact, she’ll still be appearing in Salem for most of the rest of the year! As the actress put it, “They can watch Kristen and Susan, then come on over and watch a little Patty. I’m really excited for them to watch all of the characters.”

And if Kristen and Susan are just being put to “rest,” then we don’t see anything permanent happening to either characters like death. Then again, as EJ is currently in the process of proving, death is pretty meaningless in Salem! And blood or not, Kristen is still very much a DiMera.
