Young & Restless’ Stacy Haiduk Teases a Patty and [Spoiler] Run-In: ‘It’s Not Going to Be Boring’
Young & Restless detonated instant drama when it returned Patty Williams to the canvas, and it’s a no-brainer that she’ll revist some of the landmines buried in her past. You’ll want to keep reading to find out who she might run into.. and why it’s such a combustible combination.
Obviously, Patty was going to interact with Jack when she came back to Young & Restless. He’s been the object of her obsession since she was young and innocent. Much to her parents’ horror, the youngest Williams’ sibling fell for the notorious playboy and heir to John Abbott’s Jabot Cosmetics empire (then played by Terry Lester)… and predictably, got her heart broken.
Patty dated Danny Romalotti, but even the Rock On heartthrob couldn’t keep her mind off of Jack. She finally got the Abbott to the altar (he was hoping his dad would hand over the reins if he married), but he slept with none other than Diane Jenkins on the day of their wedding, and continued the affair even after they tied the knot.
In a confrontation that came after that debacle, Patty pumped three bullets into Jack at point blank range after threatening to kill herself. You just don’t get drama like that on today’s Young & Restless, folks!
Patty dated Danny again before leaving town, only to return with a different face and name. Victor brought her back as Mary Jane Benson to seduce Jack.
That particular drama led to Patty giving a young Summer the infamous “peanut butter kiss” and nearly killing her. In the ensuing chaos, Victor was outed, and Patty, who had reverted to a childlike state as Pattycake, was captured and held for ransom by Michael’s mother, Gloria and her husband, Jeff.
Patty was found by Traci’s daughter, Colleen, who wound up drowning in the lake and dying when Patty held a gun on rescuer Jack and wouldn’t allow him to perform CPR. This time, Patty pumped three bullets into Victor, who later got Colleen’s heart.
Patty was institutionalized after all of that, but managed to switch places with another of Jack’s lady loves, Emily, and cause more chaos. When Jack was slated to marry Genevieve, Patty shot him at the altar. Does his trepidation upon seeing Patty on the yacht make a little more sense now, newcomers?
That brings us to Stacy Haiduk’s tease, which went a little something like this, “Patty has some unfinished business that she needs to take care of and who knows who she’s gonna run into, right? It’s not going to be boring.” When subsequently asked by Soap Opera Digest if she’d cross paths with her former rival, Diane, Haiduk replied with a coy wink, “I think that could be very intriguing to Patty.”
Diane’s not the only person that Patty has contentious history with, but she’s one of the only ones on the canvas. There’s Jill, for example, who sent a pregnant Patty to see Jack in his office, knowing she’d find him schtupping Diane. Horrified by the scene, Patty tripped over a plant, which caused her to trip and fall, and ultimately, miscarry.
There’s also Traci and Ashley, and throughout her Fairview and Rivercrest journeys, Patty had interactions with the likes of Adam (she once threw weedkiller in his eyes) and Sharon, making them other possibilities for intriguing encounters in her most recent return.
And… if she should she do something to end up back in a mental clinic, Patty may very well cross paths with [Spoiler].
