Romantic or Cringe? Bold & Beautiful Fans Declare ‘I’m Begging This Show to Stop!’

Guys, we need to talk about one of daytime’s most divisive characters and the weird journey she’s been on. We also need to discuss a particular aspect of that character’s trajectory that has a whole lot of fans… well, quite frankly, grossed out.
Yes, we’re talking about Bold & Beautiful’s Sheila as played by the incomparable Kimberlin Brown.
It’s a testament to Brown’s skills that she has managed to create one of the most iconic villains in daytime history. But if you’ve been following the character since first she raised hell on Young & Restless, it’s easy to see why you might be confused or even unhappy. Especially when it comes to her relationship with Deacon, in general, and her repeatedly calling him “Daddy.”
Scenes such as this one inspired an entire Reddit thread in which the majority of commenters indicated they’d just as soon not listen to the cringe-inducing dialogue. Wrote u/SnorkinOrkin, “I won’t yuck on anyone’s yum, but I don’t need to hear it!”
As for u/Shirogayne-at-WF, they made their thoughts clear: “I’m begging the show to stop!”
And when the show recently included scenes in which Deacon sucked on the foot of his eight-toed wife, a commenter on our recap of the episode declared, “I don’t need that image in my head!”
Others, however, are 100 percent #TeamSheila and want to see Taylor punished for putting the moves on Deacon. (The fact that it makes no sense for Taylor to even consider bringing the wrath of Sheila down upon the entire extended Forrester clan is another issue entirely.)
Sheila and Deacon are certainly a divisive character. For many, seeing the fiery vixen reduced to a pizza-slinging waitress has been though. There are also wild inconsistencies in her overall storyline. For example, remember when Sheila spoke of a “mysterious benefactor” who could provide her with all the money she’d ever need? No? That’s fine, because the writers don’t seem to recall it, either.
As far as we’re concerned, it might be time to bring Sheila’s vicious side roaring back one final time. Let Taylor and Deacon‘s improbable romance serve as the catalyst for an epic story which will send Sheila on an old-school murderous rampage.
Would that mean the last of Sheila? Quite possibly. But shouldn’t all true villains go out in a blaze of glory? Surely that’s better than watching them be reduced to… well, what Sheila has become.
If that’s not where the show is going, then can we at least ask that she and Deacon stop with the “mommy and daddy” routine? We’d all be grateful for that.
