Bold & Beautiful’s Ongoing Plot-Block Makes No Sense — and It’s Changing *Everything*

Bold & Beautiful has centered a whole lotta’ upheaval on a plot point that could be resolved with a simple sentence… and it makes no sense that the character in question won’t utter it! We’re talking hair-ripping-out levels of frustration! What has us so offside? We’re sure you won’t be surprised because you’ve probably been straining your brain to make sense of it as well: Daphne’s not afraid of Ivy, so why won’t she tell Electra the truth about the letter?!
When Daphne saw Ivy slip a letter into her purse, it wasn’t long before she connected the dots because her next conversation was with a distraught Electra, sobbing over Will taking the letter and leaving the necklace she made him in it’s place… which she assumed was his way of breaking up with her.
Daphne then confronted Ivy about stealing her niece’s letter to come between her and Will. Ivy, who has all but taken on an alternate personality to enable this plot swerve, warned her to keep her mouth shut or else. But, we have to ask, “Or else what?!”
What is stopping Daphne from telling Electra the truth? Or at least forcing Ivy to do it herself by giving her the old, “You do it or I will”? Daphne clearly isn’t afraid of Ivy as she had no hesitation about confronting her, nor does Ivy hold any power over her. Sure, they’ve got a lucrative collaboration going with the perfume and jewelry line, but Ivy has no way of putting the kibosh on that.
Ivy’s a Forrester, which under other circumstances might be a deterrent to exposing her, but Daphne is married to the CFO and her fragrances have boosted the company’s success. More to the point, she’s besties with Steffy, who is not an Ivy fan, and would be appalled to learn what the Aussie’s been up to. Yeah, Daphne’s not going anywhere if she speaks up.
Honestly, Daphne wouldn’t even have to tell Electra what Ivy did, she simply could say, “Ask Will if he got the letter. Trust me.” It’s incredibly frustrating to watch Electra, Will, RJ, and Dylan’s lives be turned upside-down based on this nonsensical plot-block of Daphne remaining mum for no reason at all.
Ivy, meanwhile, has morphed into Bold & Beautiful’s latest drinking game: Take a shot every time she mutters, “Not proper. Not proper at all.” Chug and whack the TV screen if she tells someone that Will “slept with someone else,” which is a vile take on a rape.
We’d have loved to see Bold & Beautiful find an organic way to play out a similar scenario with the foursome that was somewhat realistic and didn’t leave Daphne looking like a dud and Ivy coming across as a demented puritan, not to mention a cold-hearted auntie.
