Oh, Bold & Beautiful, what, what, what are you doing? It was horrifying enough that Luna deliberately got Will drunk off his ass and, knowing both that he was unable to consent and unaware of her identity, raped him. But afterwards, the show had Sheila cackle with her granddaughter about her and Will’s “special night.”

Was Sheila Aware of the Low Luna Had Sunk?

Make no mistake, either. Sheila knew that her Luna had sexually assaulted Will. The young psycho had just informed Grandma that she’d been the bartender who was overserving Will all evening and that she’d kept her identity under wraps. (Read the recap.) So when Sheila cackled with glee about what Luna called the best night of her life, she was celebrating the fact that her granddaughter had raped Will.

One word for that: Ew!

Why Is Sheila So Inconsistently Written?

The stomach-turning twist begs a question, too: WTH is up with the writing for Sheila? For decades, the homicidal maniac ran roughshod over both Young & Restless and Bold & Beautiful, switching paternity tests, taking hostages and shooting everyone in sight. (Review her life and crimes.) But Bold & Beautiful had seemed to try to turn the character around by having her give Luna relatively sane advice and even intervening when she held Steffy at gunpoint.

Now Sheila is back to snickering about the fact that Luna got Will drunk and took advantage of him. Are we meant to see this development as inconsistent with the “victimized anti-heroine” role in which Sheila has tried to cast herself? Or are we supposed to view it as being true to the core of who Sheila is? She did, after all, drug Scott Grainger to get him in bed?

Where Does Bold & Beautiful Go From Here?

Any way you slice it, the “ugh” of it all is real. And making matters worse is the fact that we can all predict what’s next, right? Just when Luna’s latest crime comes to light, she’ll reveal that she’s pregnant and pull a Kristin from Dallas. Remember after it was revealed that she shot J.R., she kept him from pressing charges by revealing that she was having his baby. Luna is likely to do something similar, suggesting to Bill that he wouldn’t want a Spencer heir to be born behind bars, now would he?
