Joey summons Marcel to the casino, telling him to “put a little more effort into satisfying your crazy girlfriend, because I’m tired of her flirting with me!” Marcel is surprised by Joey and his obvious feelings for Vanessa, especially given what the men did to Doug. (While it is never said aloud, it’s very clear that they are responsible for Vanessa being a widow. Especially when Joey later flashes back to himself promising Vanessa that he had nothing to do with Doug’s “accident.”)
Speaking of Leslie, she is exchanging barbs with Vanessa… at least until the arrival of Deanna! That’s right, at long last, we’re meeting Donnell’s twin sister. Leslie and Deanna connect instantly, with Vanessa hysterically taking her daughter aside to say, “You are forbidden from liking that woman!” It quickly becomes obvious that Deanna is mercurial at best. She asks if her mom has moved on, and the blonde admits she’s trying to, but doesn’t reveal more. (Get ready, because tomorrow, all you-know-what will break out with these two!)
Mona Is Grossed Out
Randy catches up with Lynette at Orphey Gene’s. She’s decided she wants to stay in town to reconnect with Hayley… and maybe take Bill for a spin! She is feeding him a French fry when Mona crosses the restaurant, slaps him on the back of the head and says they’re being nasty! Lynette suggests Mona take her “trad-wife” ways and leave, while Mona says Randy and Lynette both need Jesus! Randy reveals to Lynette that he believes he’s done things he needs to be forgive for, and that he plans to go back to church if Mona will forgive him. First, however, Lynette suggests they go back to his place so she can give him something else to repent for.
Kat’s New Place
Kat catches her grandparents off guard by asking if she can move in with them. She admits Tomas rightly said they weren’t ready to live together, adding that she could be helpful as Anita deals with her treatments. Hearing the construction on Leslie’s across-the-street monstrosity, Kat heads out to “lay down in front of a bulldozer!” Wisely, her elders convince Kat that this isn’t the way to go about dealing with Leslie. Instead, Vernon goes to see Bill, asking him to do whatever it takes to “keep Leslie Thomas on the other side of the gates!”
In Other News…
Hayley and Bill’s trip to St. Bart’s is cut short when he has to come home for a hearing. Bill’s ticked, but she’s surprisingly happy to be home. Recreating a beach scene in front of the fireplace, Hayley tells him she has a feeling now is the time for them to make a baby.
At the coffee shop, Eva literally finds herself caught between Leslie and Derek yet again. The fireman nearly quits his new clinic job until Eva talks him down. Alone with Leslie, she wonders how long it’ll be before she crosses the wrong person and karma bites her. A bit later, Eva crosses with Mona, who says the entire town is watching the younger woman make good on the mistakes she made upon first arriving. And with Joey’s orders ringing in his ears, Marcel meets with Leslie, claiming he’s all in where she’s concerned!
